What is cashflow management?

Cashflow management lets you automate drawdowns from your Flexible Trade Account to help manage day-to-day cash flow requirements.

Instead of manually moving funds, you can set up rules that automatically send funds to a chosen payment account based on your preferences and account balances.

You can access Cashflow Management from the Payments section in the left-hand menu.

How do I set up cashflow management?

From the Cashflow Management screen, you can:

  1. Choose the payment account you want funds to be sent to.

  2. Select the type of rule you want to apply.

  3. Choose how often the rule should run — daily, weekly, or monthly.

Once set up, the rule runs automatically based on your configuration.

You can choose from the following rule options:

  • A fixed amount to be drawn each period

  • An amount up to a specific balance in your Flexible Trade Account

  • An amount equal to incoming payments (invoice repayments) during the period

  • An amount to maintain a specific balance in your primary account

Each rule is designed to give you flexibility over how and when funds are moved.

What happens if there aren’t enough available funds to fully meet a rule?

If a rule can’t be fully met because there isn’t enough available funding, the system will still draw down up to the maximum available amount.

For example, if you set a rule to maintain a £30,000 balance in your primary account, your current primary account balance is £10,000, and only £15,000 is available from you Flexible Trade Account, a £15,000 drawdown will be processed. This brings your primary account balance as close as possible to the target without exceeding available funding.

This approach helps you make use of available funds without requiring manual intervention.

Can I change or stop a cashflow rule?

Yes. You can update, pause, or remove cashflow management rules at any time from the Cashflow Management screen.

Changes take effect going forward and won’t impact payments that have already been processed.
